FMCSA Clearinghouse

Mandatory Reporting for CDL drivers begins January 6, 2020

It's already time to prep for the new year! If you employ CDL drivers and haven't registered for the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse, it's time to check it off your to-do list. On January 6, 2020 the Clearinghouse becomes fully operational and mandatory reporting begins.

One important note is that Clearinghouse data isn't retroactive. That means that for the next three years, employers will be required to use both the DOT Clearinghouse and traditional background screening methods already in place by Risk Assessment Group.
